Bright Future for Two Bays Farm

Tara Madgwick - Thursday February 28
Progressive Victorian nursery Two Bays Farm has been purposefully developed to create an ideal environment for producing quality thoroughbreds and a top class draft of 17 youngsters to be offered at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale are a testament to the hard work and vision of Rob Carlile his team.

"Two Bays is a young farm with high aspirations for success," said Rob Carlile.

"Situated on the Mornington Peninsula, it has some of Australia's most fertile soil, a mild climate and reliable rainfall. We are following biodynamic farming principles, building soil carbon and biology levels using natural biological and organic inputs with no synthetic fertilizers being used.

Gosford Guineas winner Military Zone was bred and sold by Two Bays Farm"As a result, the farm is highly productive and its pastures are a key component of our horses' nutrition and diet. We have seen a flow on from healthy soil to healthy plants and healthy horses, and there has been a marked improvement in the fertility and general health of the horses.

"We grow our foals out naturally, exercising them on the farm's hills to foster tough and durable bones, tendons and muscles. Our horses receive individual attention from a dedicated team who have a thorough knowledge of every horse. This enables us to deliver the very best conditions and opportunities for each horse."

Two Bays Farm have 18 mares on the farm and while the oldest progeny bred by Two Bays are just five year olds they have already produced winners such as smart stakes-winner Military Zone along with Easy Eddie and Fallen Empire.

"This year's draft of 17 is a mix of horses bred by Two Bays and farm clients including Makybe who have been with us the last two years," added Carlile.
