Beauty Generation Continues His Reign

Karaka graduate Beauty Generation (NZ) (Road to Rock) continued his spectacular dominance of Hong Kong racing with another emphatic victory in Sunday's HK$10 million Group 1 Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup (1400m) at Sha Tin.

Beauty Generation has won seven in a row - image Grant CourtneyIt was a seventh consecutive win for the unstoppable gelding, who was bought for just $60,000 at the 2014 Select Sale. He has won 11 of his last 14 starts.

The toughest opposition on Sunday was expected to come from fellow Karaka graduate Beat The Clock (Hinchinbrook), who was narrowly ahead after the first 200 metres.

But Beauty Generation and jockey Zac Purton slid forward into their customary front-running role and did it easily from there, powering to victory by a length and three-quarters in a time of 1:21.03. Beat The Clock held on for second, two lengths clear of the rest of the field.

"It's just a repeat of what he's been doing all season," Beauty Generation's trainer John Moore said.

"He just keeps doing it. He's just too good and Zac's the composite horseman, he knows exactly what's going on."

Beauty GenerationRaced by Patrick Kwok, Beauty Generation is the reigning Hong Kong Horse of the Year. His rating of 127 is the equal highest ever in Hong Kong.

He has now had 28 starts for 15 wins, six of them at Group 1 level. He has placed in another seven races, earning more than HK$72 million in prizemoney. That's the equivalent of NZ$13.3 million, which is more than 220 times his purchase price.

Runner-up Beat The Clock is a Group 1 winner in his own right in the Centenary Sprint Cup (1200m). The $200,000 Ready to Run Sale purchase has had 19 starts for seven wins, 12 placings and HK$24.9 million – more than 23 times his purchase price.
