Aquis Appoint Animal Welfare Officer

Breednet - Friday February 8
With animal welfare a major talking point in the racing industry in recent weeks, Aquis have taken the pro-active step of appointing an independent animal welfare officer to cover all of their operations.

Shane McGrath"I am very pleased to announce Aquis has appointed an independent Animal Welfare Officer, Madeleine Carlefalk, to ensure that all animal husbandry at Aquis Farm (in all locations) is conducted to the highest possible standard and in the horses best interest at all time across both operations in the Hunter Valley and Canungra," said Aquis CEO Shane McGrath.

"Madeleine joined Aquis Farm in January 2019 and has extensive knowledge of animal welfare having worked previously with the RSPCA.

"The Fung family has a vision for Aquis Farm into the future and with this vision they are committed to ensuring that the integrity and welfare of all animals are a priority.

"The independent appointment will ensure transparency and accountability at all times and compliance with all animal welfare standards.

"Aquis Farm takes its obligations with animal welfare most seriously and have always dealt with any reports promptly."
