Flying Start and a Star Filly

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 18
With 14 Australian winners since August 1, Star Witness has made a blazing start to the new season and was in the spotlight last night in Sydney when his outstanding filly Global Glamour was honoured as the NSW Champion 3YO at the annual awards night conducted by the NSW Racehorse Owners Association and Racing NSW.

Global GlamourTrained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott for the It's All About the Girls Syndicate, Global Glamour was the dominant three year-old filly of the spring carnival last year winning both the Group I ATC Flight Stakes and MRC Thousand Guineas.

An inspired yearling purchase for James Bester, Global Glamour was plucked from the Lauriston Thoroughbred Farm draft for $65,000 at Magic Millions and has earned her adoring group of owners in excess of $1.2 million in prizemoney.

Global Glamour is one of nine stakes-winners sired by Widden Stud's Star Witness, who stands this spring at a fee of $33,000.

The Champion Two and Three Year Old Colt of his generation, Star Witness covered his biggest ever book of 220 mares last spring, so is on an upward trajectory.
