Another Juvenile Invincible Stakes-Winner!

Tara Madgwick - Saturday January 26
I Am Invincible is enjoying a sensational season with his two year-olds and produced a fifth individual juvenile stakes-winner on Australia Day when I Am Immortal was able to win the Listed MRC Blue Diamond Preview at Caulfield on debut.

Trained by Anthony Freedman, I Am Immortal (image Grant Courtney) showed good ability in a recent trial win and raced right up to that good indication when leading all the way to win the 1000 metre scamper by a length.

"He's a ready made two year-old," said his rider Ben Melham.

"He has a great cruising speed although he needs to learn to harness his energy a bit better. If he can pace himself a bit he can be a very good colt."

The Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes next month could now be on the agenda is he pulls up well.

"We're very happy with that," said Anthony Freedman,

"He's shown good speed in his jump outs, but has really only come on the scene in the last few weeks.

"He'll take a lot of benefit from the run in fitness and experience. Two year-olds are a day to day prospect, one day you've got them and then you don't, so we'll just see how he pulls up, but if he's feeling his shins and needs some time, he'll get it."

I Am Immortal as a yearlingA $200,000 Inglis Easter purchase from the Yarraman Park draft for Anthony Freedman Racing/ Dream Thoroughbreds, he runs for a big syndicate and carries the Dream Thoroughbreds colours with Yarraman Park also sharing in his ownership.

Bred by Yarraman Park in partnership, I Am Immortal is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to smart stakes-winning sprinter Whypeeo and is the first winner for Group II winner Meliora.

Yarraman Park sold the current yearling from Meliora, a filly by Hinchinbrook, for $600,000 at Magic Millions to Boomer Bloodstock.

I Am Immortal is the 41st stakes-winner for Yarraman Park's super sire I Am Invincible.
