Newgate
Farm's quiet achiever Foxwedge delivered a winning double at Kenilworth in South
Africa on Saturday highlighted by an impressive debut victory for three year-old
filly Run Fox Run.
The Brett Crawford trained filly scored a dominant two length win in the 1000
metre maiden for fillies and mares.
She was a $420,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Craig Roscoe and Brett Crawford
from the Mill Park draft making her the most expensive yearling by her sire
sold at that sale.
Run Fox Run is a half-sister to stakes-winner Guard of Honour and is the third
winner from General Nediym mare Victory Cry, a full sister to stakes-winner Victory
Chant and half-sister to stakes-winner Reldas from the family of Group I winner
Serious Speed.
Mill Park will offer the current yearling from Victory Cry, a colt by Written
Tycoon, at Inglis Easter.
Foxwedge made it a winning double when his smart mare Infamous Fox scored a neck
win in the open handicap over 1400 metres.
Trained by Candice Dawson, Infamous Fox is a stakes-winner that has won six of
15 starts.
A modest $25,000 Magic Millions purchase for Central Route Trading from the
Glastonbury Farm draft, Infamous Fox is the best of two winners from French, a
half-sister by Nadeem to Group III winner Typhoon Billie.
French was covered again by Foxwedge last spring.
A value son of Fastnet Rock, Foxwedge delivers plenty of winners and is the
sire of 11 stakes-winners, three of them Group I winners.
