The next instalment of our first season sire series
highlights two young Arrowfield stallions of very different backgrounds, the
Redoute's Choice son Scissor Kick and Japanese bred Australian Group I winner
Real Impact (Jpn).
A well-marked handsome bay, Scissor Kick was a Group III winner on the track up
to 1300 metres and his best effort at the elite level was a second in the Group
I ATC Golden Rose to Hallowed Crown.
A $200,000 Inglis Easter yearling purchase for Paul Messara, Scissor Kick is a
full brother to stakes-winning sire Sharkbite and comes from one of Juddmonte
Farm's best families featuring outstanding European sire Dansili, his grand-dam
being a half-sister to legendary blue hen Hasili.
One look at the pedigree page explains why Arrowfield were keen to give Scissor
Kick his chance at stud success.

The first son of Japanese super sire Deep Impact to shuttle to Australia, Real
Impact was a brilliant sprinter miler and a Group I winner in his homeland as
well as winning the Group I ATC George Ryder Stakes here and finishing second
in the Group I ATC Doncaster Handicap.
His US bred dam Tokio Reality has been a top producer in Japan leaving eight
winners, three of them stakes-winners including another Group I winner in
Neorealism. Real Impact will have his first Japanese runners this year.
