Life After Racing - Swettenham

Media Release - Thursday January 3

"Like A Boss" is enjoying a very successful career after racing in the show ring, as a multiple winning champion ridden hack. An outstanding looking son of past resident Swettenham Stud stallion Bianconi, he is from the Octagonal mare, Ellexcell.

Eliza Green, Like A Boss's owner and rider, couldn't be happier with her stunning ex-racehorse.

"He has taken to his new career impeccably well and we attribute that to his wonderful handling at an early age."

Green has been approached by Swettenham Stud employees while out competing who have been thrilled to see how well he is doing in his next career.

"They are very passionate about the horses that were bred at Swettenham Stud and have a genuine interest in them, particularly following their careers after racing."

"Boss is a credit to Swettenham and is an absolute pleasure to show," Green said.

Swettenham Stud's Adam Sangster is very pleased to learn of Like A Boss's achievements in his post-racing career.

Like a Boss"The core of our business is our horses, they are the centre piece of our industry and we are dedicated to ensuring they are cared before, during and after their racing career."

"It is important that the racing industry and the wider equine community continue to be informed about the prospects thoroughbreds have after racing, to promote the versatility of the breed and to support their ongoing re-training and education," Sangster said.

"We wholeheartedlysupport and encourage accomplished riders as Eliza Green andwelcome stories letting us know where Swettenham Stud bred horses are now."

Like A Boss started his show career last season winning numerous Supreme Champion Led Exhibit classes before making his debut under saddle with a win in the Off The Track Qualifier.

Like A Boss's sire, Bianconi is by Danzig from Fall Aspen who is the dam of Timber Country and Northern Aspen, the dam of Dubai Millennium.

A Champion 3YO Sprinter in Ireland, he did a tremendous job at stud covering over 1460 mares. He stood at Swettenham Stud from 2000, before transferring to Phil & Fiona Sloane's Ridgeview Park in 2014. Bianconi passed away in 2016.

Bianconi sired 19 Stakes winners and 31 Stakes Placegetters including the talented galloper and successful sire Nicconi, winner of the Group 1 Coolmore Lightning Stakes, the Group 1 Galaxy and the Group 3 McEwan Stakes.

Bianconi progeny remain prolific winners and no doubt his legacy will live on for a long time to come.
