Three in a Row for My Pendant

Tara Madgwick - Saturday December 22
Talented Pins filly My Pendant made it three wins in a row when scoring a well-timed victory at Flemington on Saturday bringing an important update for her Karaka bound half-brother.

My Pendant - Grant CourtneyThe Danny O'Brien filly was burdened with 60 kg in the Benchmark 70 fillies event and hit the line hard to win by a neck with Craig Williams in the saddle.

Her overall record is now an impressive three wins and two placings from five starts with $156,000 in prizemoney.

"She's come a long way in a short space of time, continuing to improve each time she's stepped out," O'Brien said.

"We'll keep the base fitness that she's got through this summer campaign and she'll bounce into the autumn, probably in mid-February for a race like the Vanity (Stakes).

"She may even get out to 1600 or 2000 metres later in the season."

A $100,000 NZB Premier purchase from the Waikato stud draft for Phil Cataldo Bloodstock, My Pendant runs for a big syndicate of stable clients and runs in the colours of part-owner Mark Chittick of Waikato Stud.

My Pendant is the first winner for My Locket, a half-sister to Group I Queensland Oaks winner Miss Keepsake and Group II winner Villifye and claims legendary matriarch My Tricia as her fourth dam. This family features champions Lonhro and Lankan Rupee as well as numerous Group I stars including Grosvenor, Mahaya and Tavago.

Waikato Stud will offer the half-brother by Ocean Park to My Pendant as Lot 244in Book One at Karaka 2019.
