A
$350,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Shadwell, three year-old Exceed and Excel
filly Nafaayes scored her biggest win to date at Turffontein on Saturday when
taking out the Group II Ipi Tombe Challenge bringing a big pedigree update for her Magic
Millions bound half-brother.
Trained by Mike de Kock, she won two races last season and was Group III placed
with punters sending her out favourite for this 1600 metre assignment.
Nafaayes scored a dominant win, racing away to win by nearly three lengths
taking her overall record to three wins and two placings from just five starts.
Bred and consigned for sale by Kia Ora Stud, Nafaayes is the first winner for
US Group III winner Decelerator (USA), a daughter of leading shuttle sire Dehere.
Decelerator has a two year-old filly by Snitzel and her current yearling is a colt
by More Than Ready (USA) that will be offered by Kia Ora Stud at the Magic
Millions as Lot 508.
Nafaayes is the 151st stakes-winner worldwide for Darley's champion
sire Exceed and Excel who has 19 entries for Magic Millions, five for Inglis
Classic and five for Inglis Premier.
