Miss Hugo A Gogo Making a Go of It

Media Release - Monday November 26

gavelhouse  Australia graduate Miss Hugo A Gogo is fashioning a tidy record for her new connections, having been bought earlier this year by Frank Williams from the site's 26 February auction.

Miss Hugo a GogoTrained by Williams' wife Gaynor, the five-year-old mare was a tenacious winner first up over 1100m at Dubbo last week.

From her wide gate she was settled behind the leaders by apprentice rider Mikayla Weir before peeling in out in the straight and grinding her way to the front for a narrow victory.

For her new connections she has raced on four occasions, winning twice and placing third and fourth to recoup her $12,000 purchase price and some with earnings since then adding up to just over $25,000.

Miss Hugo A Gogo  was purchased for a group of first time owners, with Frank Williams thrilled with the results thus far "We will just take her through her grades and keep lining her up out west and see where she ends up."

A daughter of Canford Cliffs, Miss Hugo A Gogo is the only foal to race out of the winning Oratorio mare Oratrice.

Fellow gavelhouse.com Australia 26 February sale graduate Eucharist also won this week with a one-length victory at Townsville for trainer Jeffrey O'Dea. The $5,250 buy has now had eight starts for his new connections and has returned $16,350.

Entries for the next gavelhouse.com Australia auction are due at 7pm tonight, 26 November. Contact Shona Drechsler or Josh Murphy to enter via info@gavelhouse.com or call +61396144882
