War Chant's Dance Music Opens Stakes Account

Mark Smith - Sunday November 25

Progressive War Chant (USA) filly Dance Music took her record to four wins from five starts with a maiden stakes victory in Saturday's Listed Placid Ark Stakes (1200m) at Ascot.

With visiting Victorian apprentice Ben Allen in the saddle, the Simon Miller-trained filly led all the way for an untroubled by one and a half lengths score over her stablemate Shapita (Foxwedge) with Festival Miss (Bernardini) one and a quarter length back in third.

It was the fifth win in the race in the past seven years for Miller after Miss Bux (2012), Liberty's Gem (2014), Caipirinha (2016) and Ocean Jewel (2017).

"What a dream result. I needed black-type on both and I've now got two valuable fillies," Miller told the West Australian

"When she is allowed to roll, gee she's a good filly and I knew Ben would suit her.

"The other one went unbelievably good. It's been a good race for the stable."

A homebred for Neven Botica and Matthew Sandblom, Dance Music is the first foal of her dam Fast Flowing (Dubawi).

A winner at Ascot, Fast Flowing was a $1000,000 Karaka yearling purchase by the late Bart Cummings. Her dam Deutsche (Quest for Fame) is a Sydney-winning sister to the Listed MRC Debutant Stakes The Rhine.

Fast Flowing has a 2yo filly by Blackfriars who was purchased at the Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale for just $10,000.

Fast Flowing has a yearling filly and filly foal by Group III MRC Manfred Stakes winner Bull Point (Fastnet Rock) who stands at Sandblom's Kingstar Farm at Denman.

Dance Music becomes the 40th stakes-winner for Yarradale Stud's Breeders' Cup Mile hero War Chant (Danzig) (pictured) .
