Another Savabeel Stakes-Winner for Waller

Champion trainer Chris Waller won the Group I VRC Empire Rose Stakes on Saturday with Savabeel mare Shillelagh and was back in the winner's circle at Flemington on Cup Day with another promising galloper by Waikato Stud's champion sire.



A progressive four year-old stallion, Kaonic has been working through the grades and took the step up to Black Type company when racing to a tenacious head win for Zac Purton in the Listed VRC Furphy Stakes over 1800 metres.

Kaonic a a yearlingA $425,000 NZB Premier purchase for Mulcaster Bloodstock from the Blandford Lodge draft, Kaonic has won five of 12 starts and over $300,000 in prizemoney.

He is the first winner for Fast Love, a stakes-winning half-sister to Group III winner Kiss Me Ketut and stakes-winner A Chance to Dream.

Kaonic is the 79th stakes-winner for champion sire Savabeel.
