Flashy and Fast

Tara Madgwick - Monday October 15
The two year-old race at Toowoomba on Monday featured an interesting winner and while he won't be the best two year-old winner this season, he may well be the flashiest.

Ice Patch as a yearlingA son of rare coloured thoroughbred stallion Profile in Style(USA), the Wendy Bannerot trained gelding Ice Patch improved at his second outing to post a tenacious short half head win in the 1000 metre maiden over Sizzling colt Rock Paper Sizzle with seven lengths back to the third horse.

The winner was bred by Winning Colours Farm and was purchased from their draft at the Magic Millions Yearling Sale Book 3 for $3,000.

Ice Patch is a half-brother to stakes-winner Elegant Composure and is the seventh winner from well related Woodman mare Marsh Harrier (USA), a half-sister to the dam of Group I winner I Am a Star and Group II winner Tiamo Grace.

He is the third winner for Profile in Style, who was unraced, but brought to Australia to stand at stud for his unique colouring.
