Fastnet Rock 2YO Impressive on Debut

Tara Madgwick - Sunday October 14
The $125,000 ATC Victory Vein Plate at Randwick on Saturday was won by exciting filly Anaheed (2f Fastnet Rock x Rostova), a homebred for Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum.

Anaheed - image Steve HartSent out favourite on the strength of some recent good barrier trials, the Peter and Paul Snowden trained filly zoomed away from her rivals to win the 1000 metre dash by four lengths.

It was a dominant win suggesting better quality races are in store.

"Peter and Paul were very confident," said winning rider Tim Clark.

"Everything you throw at her she handles. She's just a push button horse."

Foaled and raised at Coolmore, Anaheed is the third winner for Group I winning Testa Rossa mare Rostova.

Tim Stakemire purchased Rostova for the Sheikh for $850,000 at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale in 2015 when she was in foal to Frankel, a mating that produced promising three year-old colt Farooq. Rostova has a yearling colt by Medaglia D'Oro (USA) and is due to foal to Snitzel.
