Group Success Prominent Among Young Sires

In just a few short years, many of Australasia's recent stallion recruits have had their first crops grace the racetracks and the results seen so far have made a big impression. Buyers will have the opportunity to secure their next juveniles at NZB's Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Oldswith bloodstock available by hot sires who have had a string of early success.

Windsor Park Stud's NZ Leading First Season Sire in 2017-18 Shamexpress (NZ).Cambridge Stud's  Burgundy  (NZ) (Redoute's Choice), a three-quarter brother to successful sire Darci Brahma, was a five-time stakes winner and Group One performer. The Leading New Zealand Second Season Sire in 2017-18 is also the sire of Group One New Zealand One Thousand Guineas runner-up and NZB Filly of the Year  Dijon Bleu , Group Two Hawke's Bay Guineas winner Hard Merchandise and Singaporean Listed Golden Horseshoe placegetter Bringer of War.

Burgundy will have seven lots at auction in November including a half-brother to Group One Victoria Derby and Spring Champion Stakes placegetter Sully (Lot 91) and a half-brother to current stakes winner Won Won Too (NZ) (Lot 400).

A six-time Group One-winning son of High Chaparral, Dundeel  (NZ) (High Chaparral) was a Champion 3YO in New Zealand. The Arrowfield Stud resident was voted Horse of the Year in New Zealand in 2013-14 and Champion Middle Distance Male that same year in Australia. He has sired Group Three winner Irukandji and current Group Two Stan Fox Stakes performer Dealmaker from his first crop.

Dundeel will be represented at the Sale by three juveniles with Lot 115 , a colt from the family of American Champion 3YO  Afleet AlexLot 378 , a direct descendant from New Zealand Filly of the Year Tri Belle; and Lot 430 , a colt out of a half-sister to stakes winner Cathay Lady.

Waikato Stud's Ocean Park  (NZ) (Thorn Park) was the New Zealand Horse of the Year in 2012-13 winning four consecutive Group One races. He is the sire of seven stakes performers from his first two crops including black-type winner Ocean Jewel, Group One New Zealand Derby runner-up Mongolianconqueror, Group One Queensland Oaks runner-up Another Dollar and Group Two Queensland Guineas runner-up Seaway.

The producer of classic types will have 24 two-year-olds catalogued in the Sale with highlight lots such as a half-brother to three stakes winners including Group One Cantala Stakes winner  Shillelagh  (Lot 307 ), and a colt out of a half-sister to three Group winners (Lot 381 ).

A son of Lonhro, Pierro's  (AUS) outstanding race career saw him retire to Coolmore Stud with 11 victories, five at Group One. The Champion 2YO in Australia was the Leading Australian First and Second Season Sire and has sired 14 stakes performers from three crops including Group One Australian Derby winner  Levendi  and Group One VRC Oaks winner  Pinot .

The sire of current Group Two Missile Stakes winner Pierata will be represented by three lots at the upcoming Sale with highlight lots such as a filly out of Group Two Wakeful Stakes winner Rocha (Lot 218 ), a colt out of a half-sister to four stakes winners including dual Australian Group One winner  Sea Siren  (Lot 219 ) and a colt from the same family as Hong Kong Horse of the Year  Vengeance of Rain  (Lot 351 ).

Westbury Stud's Group One-winning son of the successful sire High Chaparral, Redwood  (GB), was a Group Three winner in England and Group One winner in America while placing in a further seven Group races. In a recent string of performers, he sired a quinella in the Group Three Naturalism Stakes with Night's Watch leading home Rising Red who also placed second in the Group One New Zealand Derby.

With three crops of racing age, Redwood will have 15 lots at the two-year-old Sale including Lot 118  who is out of a half-sister to stakes winner and Group One Queen of the Turf Stakes placegetter Illuminates, and Lot 382  who is a half-brother to Group One winner and Hong Kong stakes performer  Dukedom .

A Group One winner in both hemispheres, Westbury Stud's Reliable Man  (GB) (Dalakhani) has stamped his progeny with 14 stakes performers in both hemispheres from just two racing crops including Flemington stakes winner Main Stage, Group One Victoria Derby and Spring Champion Stakes placegetter Sully, dual Group One runner-up Belle du Nord and current Group Three Northland Breeder's Stakes placegetter Reeverderci.

Reliable Man will have 13 lots at auction in November with highlights such as the first foal out of Group Two winner and multiple Group One-placed mare Postmans Daughter (Lot 196 ) and a half-brother to Group Three-placed Omineca (Lot 253 ).

A Group One-winning son of champion sire O'Reilly, the Windsor Park Stud Shamexpress  (NZ) was the Leading New Zealand First Season Sire in 2017-18. Results on the racetrack has seen the stakes-placed Cyber Attack step up to claim his first win at black-type in the El Roca Trophy, while London Express is a stakes winner and Qiji Express a stakes placegetter.

Shamexpress will be represented at the Sale by 16 juveniles including Lot 80  who is out of a half-sister to Group One winner  The Party Sand  and Lot 324  who is out of a sister to Group Two winner Te Akau Rose.

Another star Coolmore Stud sire, kiwi-bred So You Think  (NZ) (High Chaparral) was a winner of 10 Group One's in both hemispheres including the Cox Plate twice and the Mackinnon Stakes. The Champion 3YO Colt in Australia has had three crops in both hemispheres for 30 stakes performers. His Group One-winning progeny includes New Zealand One Thousand Guineas winner  La Bella Diosa , SAJC Schweppes Oaks winner  Sopressa , Rosehill Guineas winner and current Group One performer  D'Argento , and Randwick Guineas winner  Inference .

So You Think will have two colts at auction in November with a direct descendant from Group One-winning filly and Australian Oaks placegetter Isolda (Lot 129 ) and a colt who is out of a half-sister to two Group winners (Lot 264 ).

The dual Group One winner and son of Northern Meteor, Zoustar  (AUS), joined the stallion roster of Widden Stud a six-time winner including four at Group level. He was the Leading Australian First Season Sire in 2017-18 and has sired seven stakes performers from his first crop including current Group One Golden Rose Stakes runner-up Zousain, Group Two Run to the Rose winner Lean Mean Machine and Group Three Quezette Stakes winner Sunlight.

Zoustar will have a colt who is out of a half-sister to four-time Group One winner  Volkstok'n'barrell  (Lot 372 ).
