Back
in Victoria at Stockwell Thoroughbreds this spring, Artie Schiller (USA) added
a new stakes-winner to his tally on Wednesday when Reykjavik took out the $120,000
Listed Hannans Handicap at Kalgoorlie.
The Lindsey Smith trained four year-old gelding has been super consistent of
late and scored a well deserved three-quarter length win in the 1400 metre
sprint as favourite.
With four wins and 12 placings from 25 starts, Reykjavik has won over $290,000
in prizemoney.
Not offered at auction, he is the best of two winners from Gibraltar Storm, who
comes from the family of Group I New Zealand Derby winner Rangipo.
A top class Group I sire that has left the likes of Champion 3YO Flying Artie, Artie
Schiller stands at a fee of $13,200.
