Weir last won the weight-for-age feature with Puissance De Lune in 2013 but Black Heart Bart, Humidor and Tosen Stardom will lead the Ballarat horseman's charge at the 2017 edition of the $200,000 race.

Godolphin has sent the classy galloper Hartnell to Melbourne for the spring to avoid champion mare Winx and the Melbourne Cup placegetter will tackle the Lawrence Stakes fresh.

Trainers David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig have three Lawrence Stakes entries with He's Our Rokkii, Seaburge and Tashbeeh all likely to run in the event.

Saturday's Caulfield card also features the Group III Vain Stakes (1100m) for the three-year-old colts and geldings while the three-year-old fillies will contest the Group III Quezette Stakes (1100m).

The Vain Stakes features 20 entries while 21 fillies have been entered for the Quezette Stakes.

The Hayes and Dabernig operation has entered Blue Diamond winner Catchy for the Quezette Stakes while the unbeaten Shoals will represent the Lee and Anthony Freedman stable.

VRC Sires' Produce Stakes winner Sircconi heads the Vain Stakes entries along with Godolphin's entry Veranillo.
