Daily Debutants

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday September 19
Gorgeous grey mare Catkins won over $2million on the track and was one of the more popular mares in the Chris Waller stable before Winx came along, so the debut of her three year-old half-sister on Wednesday is sure to be worth watching.

By champion sire Dubawi (IRE), Catkins (image Lisa Grimm)  somehow managed not to win a Group I, but she won a lot of everything else!

Her resume includes five Group II wins including the ATC Emancipation Stakes (1500m) twice and ATC Breeders Classic (1200m) twice, plus five Group I placings.

Kittie Kins as a yearlingMaking her debut for the Tony Gollan stable at Doomben on Wednesday in the Aquis Farm colours is her half-sister by Sepoy called Kittie Kins.

A $55,000 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale purchase for Aquis from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft, Kittie Kins is the sixth foal for Salix Caprea, who has had four foals to race and all are winners.

Raced by the Ingham family, Catkins was retired to stud in 2016 and delivered her first foal last spring, a colt by Medaglia D’Oro (USA). She is due to foal to the same sire again this year.

Kittie Kins runs at Doomben in Race 2 at 1.43 pm.
