
This time around he was more tractable with John Allen in the saddle and found the line strongly to hold off the much hyped Prince of Caviar and win the 1300 metre contest by a neck.
"He has good ability. He ran very well at his first start and took a lot of improvement out of that," said Darren Weir.
"We think ours is a nice horse, so I'm tipping this will be a strong form race.
"We're looking forward to getting him out to a trip and who knows how far he might go this spring."
The runner-up Prince of Caviar hit the line well and the son of Sebring will undoubtedly be better for the run.
