The first southern hemisphere crop of Champion 2YO Belardo (Ire) (Lope De Vega) are hitting the ground in 2018 with a handful of arrivals at Haunui Farm so far this month.

Mark Chitty says, "It's an exciting time at Haunui as we welcome the arrival of Belardo's first crop of southern hemisphere foals. We're more than happy with what we are seeing so far and welcome anyone on to the farm to inspect them – I'm sure breeders will be impressed."

A G1 winner at 2YO & 4YO, Belardo's sire Lope De Vega (Ire) (Shamardal) has enjoyed a stellar 12 months with two G1 winners in Australia and overnight, he sired his 44thstakes winner whilst this past weekend, Belardo's full brother fetched €600,000 to the bid of Mick Flanagan on behalf of the China Horse Club at Deauville.

Belardo is set to begin serving his second book of mares at Haunui Farm in 2018 at a fee of $12,000 + GST. He and some of his first foals will be on public parade on Sunday 9thSeptember at 11.30am as part of the Auckland NZTBA Stallion Parade.
