Impressive Debut Winner for Pierro

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 10
Having sired two Derby winners and an Oaks winner last season from his first crop of three year-olds, Pierro is a real 'watch sire' as we move towards spring so any debut winner by him that wins like this one did at Geelong on Friday is worth further investigation.

On a day when the Lindsay Park racing team were in hot form reeling off the first five winners at Geelong, one of their most interesting winners was three year-old Pierro filly Gaelic Dream.

Making her debut with Regan Bayliss on board she led all the way to win the 1300 metre maiden by two and three-quarter lengths running away… as we know with many of the Pierro breed they only get better as they go a bit further, so it was a very encouraging win!

Gaelic Dream as a yearlingA modest $110,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Segenhoe Stud draft for Vinery Stud, Gaelic Dream runs in the Vinery colours for Vinery and partners and is the second stakes-winner for stakes-winning Falbrav (IRE) mare Irish Dream.

Gaelic Dream is the fifth winner since the start of the season for Pierro, who will be looking to build on his already imposing 6% stakes-winner to runners as the spring unfolds.

The Champion First Season Sire in 2016/2017 and Champion Second Season Sire in 2017/208, Golden Slipper winner Pierro stands at Coolmore at a fee of $88,000.
