Winning First Foal for Rupert

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday August 1
A powerhouse son of Written Tycoon, dazzling sprinter Winning Rupert has his first foals arriving this spring with Daandine Stud in Queensland delighted with their stunning colt from well related mare Tears.

Daandine Stud are no strangers to success with the Written Tycoon sireline having bred and sold Newgate Farm's young Golden Slipper winning sire Capitalist, who is the highest stake earner for Written Tycoon.

"We're very impressed with our first Winning Rupert foal, he is a very attractive, good bodied foal with a nice girth, great bone and a lot of leg under him," said Mark McCann, Daandine Stud Manager.

"We'll be looking forward to seeing more of them."

This handsome colt is the third foal of minor winner Tears, a half-sister to the dam of $2.3 million earner and Group I winner Single Gaze as well as stakes-winner Le Val.

A lightly raced Group II winner with five wins from just six starts including two track records, Winning Rupert stands at Newgate Farm at a fee of $16,500.
