G3 Winner Marie's Diamond Added to Goodwood Sale

An additional five entries have been accepted for the inaugural Goffs UK Goodwood Sale which will be held after racing in the winners enclosure at the Qatar Goodwood Festival on Wednesday 1 August.

Marie's DiamondA total of 12 high-end entries have been accepted thus far for the sale which features three broodmares, eight Horses-in-Training and a breeding right for the leading young sire Showcasing. The most recent horses that have been accepted for the sale are:

Lot 1, Perfect Angel (4YO M by Dark Angel), trained by Andrew Balding, Perfect Angel is a race winner and Group placed in the Gr.2Mill Reef Stakes as a 2YO and Gr.3Hackwood Stakes last season at three. Out of the Listed placed mare The Hermitage, Perfect Angel is an own sister to the current 2YO Angel's Hideaway who placed fourth at Royal Ascot's Gr.3Albany Stakes before finishing second in the Gr.2 Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes on her last start. Perfect Angel is in full training with a BHA rating of 97 and will be offered with a breeding certificate.

Lot 4, MARIE'S DIAMOND (2YO C by Footstepsinthesand), trained by Mark Johnston and raced by Middleham Park, Marie's Diamond has won three of his six career starts including the Gr.3 Jebel Ali Racecourse And Stables Anglesey Stakes on his most recent start. He also placed second in the Gr.2Railway Stakes last month. He hails from an Aga Khan family which has produced the likes of the Gr.1winner and sire SINNDAR.

Trainer Mark Johnston commented "we rate Marie's Diamond very highly and see him as a potential Guineas horse at this stage." Marie's Diamond is BHA rated 106 and provisional Hong Kong rated 82 (as of 24/7/18).

Lot 7, Flying Dragon (2YO C by War Command), trained by Matthieu Palussiere, Flying Dragon placed on his only start at Chantilly earlier this month. French bred, he is from the family of the Gr.1winner CHICHICASTENANGO.

Lot 11, MALAKEH (3YO F by Harbour Watch), trained in Germany by Henk Grewe, Malakeh has impressed in just her five career starts to date. A Listedwinner in April, she went on to place second in the Gr.2 German 1000 Guineas before finishing third in the Gr.3Meilen Trophy on her most recent start. From a black-type family, Malakeh is a half-sister to the Listed winner SMOKEY STORM and Listed placed Di Stefano.

Lot 12, Weeping Wind (7YO M by Oratorio), will be sold with a Harzand colt foal at foot. A well-bred mare, she is a half-sister to the Gr.1winner HE'S YOUR MAN/I'M YOUR MAN, Listed placed Sacrifice My Soul and Ragazza and the Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 placed mare PERFECT HEDGE, dam of the Gr.3winner and Gr.1placed CALLED TO THE BAR. Weeping Wind's dam is also a half-sister to the Gr.1 winner and SirePOLIGLOTE.
