Media Release - Thursday July 26
The Group III winning German sprinter Julio, and this season's debut winning and Group II placed 2YO Charming Kid, are the latest entries to be accepted for the Goffs UK Goodwood Sale which will be held after Racing at the Qatar Goodwood Festival on Wednesday 1 August. More entries will be released this week.

A two-time winner and twice Gr.3 placed at two last season in France and Germany, JULIO was Germany's top 2YO by earnings for his trainer Mario Hofer. This season at three he claimed his third career win on his most recent start with victory in the Gr.3 Hamburger Flieger Trophy over six-furlongs. That victory saw him receive a provisional Hong Kong rating of 80 (as of 17/7/18). A son of the leading sire Exceed And Excel, Julio is out of the Listed placed mare Julissima and is from the family of the Gr.3winner and Gr.1 placed GOLDEN SWORDand Gr.1Melbourne Cup winner REKINDLING.

Julio will be offered with an entry in the Qatar Goodwood Festival's Gr.3 Thoroughbred Stakes on Friday 3 August. View his pedigree here.

Charming KidCharming Kid (pictured) comes into the Goodwood Sale following three race starts to date. Trained by Richard Fahey, the 2YO son of Charm Spirit won his debut at York in May with the Racing Post commenting he "travelled strongly in behind and quickened up well to win comfortably, his rider never having to go for the whip. The runner-up had previous experience and set a decent standard, so this was a good effort on his debut, and he looks a smart prospect."

His most recent start came at Newmarket in the July Cup Festival where he placed third in the Gr.2July Stakes to the Doncaster Premier Sale graduate Advertise, taking his BHA rating to 105. That performance also saw him earn a provisional Hong Kong rating of 82 (as of 23/7/18).A well-bred colt, Charming Kid is a half-brother to the dual Gr.2winner JUNIPER PASSand hails from the family of the Gr.1winner and Champion Sire STORM CAT, Gr.1winner CROWDED HOUSE,Gr.2winners CHAPEL OF DREAMS, TERLINGUA,TALE OF A CHAMPIONetc.
