Million Dollar Colt Beaten

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday July 4
$1million Inglis Easter purchase Oceanity made a pleasing debut at Sandown on Wednesday, but will have to wait for another day to break maiden status after finishing second to I Am Invincible colt Ben Hercules.

I Am InvinciblePrepared at Lindsay Park by the Hayes Dabernig training partnership, Ben Hercules had fitness and race experience on his side coming into this 1000 metre juvenile contest off a last start win at Bendigo.

He raced forward for Craig Williams and kicked away down the running before holding off a determined challenge from Oceanity, a three-quarter brother by Snitzel to ill-fated sire Beneteau.

Ben Hercules has now won two of four starts and looks a nice type to keep improving.

Retained to race by his breeders, Ben Hercules is a half-brother to stakes-winner Meteoroid from stakes-placed Benatar.

He is one of 20 two year-old winners this season for Yarraman Park's flagship sire I Am Invincible.
