Since
Twin Hills Stud made the decision to stand Smart Missile at their Cootamundra
farm, the son of Fastnet Rock has knocked up siring winners with a debut
juvenile winner at Gosford on Thursday bringing him to 99 winners for the
season.
The Joe Pride trained gelding Knight Arrow was well educated for his debut with
two recent trials and was tenacious to the lien to win the 1100 metre maiden by
a short neck.
Knight Arrow was retained to race after passing in at the Magic Millions
Yearling Sale and is the third winner from Profits Rock, a Zabeel daughter of
stakes-winner Natural Tycoon.
Smart Missile is the leading Australian third
crop sire by winners with 99 winners of $5.5 million and is second to only So
You Think by earnings.
He has also sired eight stakes horses headed by Group II winner I'll Have a Bit
and juvenile stakes-winner Irish Bet.
Smart Missile is well priced at $13,200 and is sure to generate huge interest
in the south west of New South Wales as a proven source of metropolitan winners
and stakes horses.
