Foals With No Tails

Tara Madgwick - Monday June 4
In the spring of 2012 when the first foals started arriving for Group I winner Shellscrape it quickly became apparent that all was not well and if you ever wondered what became of those foals born with no tails, then you would be interested in this maiden winner at Wagga on Monday.

Find My Tail - look closely! The aptly named five year-old gelding Find My Tail scored his first win when kicking away down the straight and holding off all challengers to take out the 1000 metre maiden for Tumut trainer Kerry Weir.

Second at Wagga at his previous start, Find My Tail now has a win and two placings from six starts and his trainer hopes there are more wins in store.

"He's a lovely little horse and tries hard," Weir told Sky Racing.

Shellscrape covered 59 mares in his first season at stud , but very few mares since then and none since 2015.

He is the sire of 16 winners from 26 starters with his best performer stakes-placed Just for Tilda, who did have a tail!
