Tosen Stardom Arrives at Woodside

Media Release - Monday May 14
The timing of Tosen Stardom's arrival today to Woodside Park Stud could not be better, as with the recent success of Deep Impact's progeny at home and abroad, he is making sure he gains the full attention of mare owners and bloodstock agents ready to select their stallions for the upcoming season.

Tosen StardomDeep Impact has now clocked up his 35th Group 1 winner with Jour Polaire dominant in the Victoria Mile in Japan overnight, and added two more Group 1 winners last week with Keiai Nautique triumphant in the Group 1 Tokyo Mile Cup and Saxon Warrior's victory in the Group 1 Two Thousand Guineas at Newmarket.

With Tosen Stardom being one of just three Deep Impact sire sons available to breeders outside of Japan, his blue-blooded pedigree will undeniably land him at the top of astute breeder's mating lists.

"Deep Impact is renowned internationally, and he has already achieved an impressive strike rate in Australia. From six runners, half of them are Group 1 winners or performers with Tosen Stardom being the greatest," Woodside's James Price said.

"Let's hope Group 1 Tancred Stakes runner-up Ambitious who is heading towards the Doomben Cup this weekend, may add another Group 1 win to that list."

With a devastating turn of foot, Tosen Stardom triumphed in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap and the Group 1 Emirates Stakes, while his consistency at the top level saw him runner-up in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes, the Group 1 Futurity Stakes and in the Group 2 Blamey Stakes.

But equally important to his elite racetrack record is Tosen Stardom's physical presence, which will undoubtedly compliment the traditional Australian-bred broodmare.

"As a package he has the immense presence mare owners desire to produce commercially attractive and successful progeny," Price said.

Joining Victoria's premier stallion roster that includes Invincible Spirit's highest rated two-year-old, Cable Bay, Victoria's Champion Sire, Written Tycoon, and his fastest son at stud, Rich Enuff, Tosen Stardom offers mare owners the opportunity to tap into world-class bloodlines for the highly competitive 2018 service fee of $19,250 inc. GST.
