$13,000 Filly Wins $100,000 Inglis Scone 2YO Classic

Tara Madgwick - Friday May 11
Bred by Trapeze Artist's owner breeder Bert Vieira, two year-old Walking or Dancing filly Bare Naked Lady made just $13,000 when she was offered in the Bowness Stud draft at the 2017 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale.

Bare Naked Lady as a yearlingThe lucky purchaser was astute trainer Tracey Bartley, who saw something he liked in the filly and returned to Scone with her on Friday to win the $100,000 Inglis Scone 2YO Classic for graduates of the Scone Yearling Sale.

A luckless third on debut at Muswellbrook on April 20 when caught wide, she was sent out favourite for this 1100 metre assignment despite drawing out in gate 14.

Again posted deep in the run under Tim Clark, she surged to the front over the final furlong to power clear and win by three and three-quarter lengths in a dominant display.

"She's a lovely filly and they are a good bunch of owners so they will have a lot of fun," said Tracey Bartley.

"I bought her completely on type, I never looked at the page. I just loved the way she walked.

Winners are grinners - the Bare Naked Lady owners celebrate"She's just a push button horse and has been like it since the day she walked into our stable."

Bare Naked Lady is the sixth winner from well bred Redoute's Choice mare Nakedindaspa, an unraced sibling to Group winners Dandify and Manner Hill from Champion 3YO Filly and four time Group I winner Mannerism.

She is the 16th winner for her sire Walking or Dancing, a Group III winning son of Falvelon that has covered only eight mares in the past two seasons.

Bowness Stud have a big draft of 17 for the 2018 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale on Sunday including a colt by Walking or Dancing! Click here to see the draft.
