Aquis has announced their 2018 stallion roster comprising some thirteen stallions across both NSW and QLD.
"Highlighting the roster will be the Champion 2YO Colt and Snitzel's highest-ever rated 2YO Invader, who will be joined on the Hunter Valley roster by the speed machine Spieth who is the best son of Champion Sire Thorn Park to stand at stud in Australia," said Aquis CEO Shane McGrath.
"Spieth, who came within a lip of winning a Group One in both the Darley Classic and the Lightning Stakes, will be retired at the end of the Brisbane Winter Carnival, with Craig Williams booked to ride him throughout his final campaign."
Spieth trialled in encouraging fashion at Randwick on Tuesday finishing a close up third to Group I winners English and Redzel.
"We are also delighted to welcome the outstanding Group One-winning juvenile The Mission, who is by the emerging sire of sires Choisir. The runaway winner of the Champagne Stakes at two, The Mission will join our QLD roster following his Brisbane campaign, with James Ormond booked to ride him in the Group One Doomben 10,000," McGrath revealed.
Prepared by stallion making trainer Paul Perry, who has given us Fastnet Rock, Stratum and Choisir, The Mission has already won over $500,000 in prizemoney and has been highly competitive in Group I sprints at his past three starts behind In Her Time and Trapeze Artist.
"Standing alongside The Mission in Queensland will be Kobayashi. An exceptionally fast 2YO who is completely free of Danehill blood, " McGrath added.
Kobayashi will be the first son of I am Invincible to stand at stud in Queensland.
I Am Invincible has soared from humble beginnings, starting off at a fee of $11,000 and will stand this spring at a fee of $192,500. He has sired the winners of over $13 million this season including 18 stakes-winners and his 97 yearlings sold this year have averaged $443,298 with eight youngsters selling for $1million or more.
Queensland breeders will now have a chance to access a stakes-winning son of arguably the hottest sire in the country.
"In both Invader and The Mission we are delighted to welcome two Group One winning 2YOs to our dual-State roster. Both are by outstanding sires and our commitment to supporting our stallions in the breeding barn and sales ring will continue," McGrath concluded.
"Further endorsing our endeavour to support breeders who support us, all Aquis stallions will be restricted to a book of no more than 175 mares per season."
Fees for The Mission and Spieth will be announced upon their retirement from racing after the Brisbane Carnival.
