Pepper Tree Farm has been dedicated to the horse industry since its inception in 1996 and was initially created as a standardbred stud, shuttling world class sires from the USA and breeding a number of Australian 2YO and 3YO of the Year champions and multi Group 1 winners.
Established by Rob and Julie Vandyke, it is currently under the guardianship of their veterinarian daughter Dr Brianna Vandyke, who is taking the stud in a different direction with the addition of Panzer Division.
"We are excited to announce a further development to our continuing evolution, with exciting young thoroughbred sire, Panzer Division to stand at the farm in partnership with Arrowfield Stud," said Dr Brianna Vandyke.
"At Pepper Tree Farm, we pride ourselves on our focus on the horse, our attention to detail and our commitment to quality and success - all backed by experienced and knowledgeable horsemanship."
By champion sire Redoute's Choice, who has no peer as a sire of sires, Panzer Division showed serious stakes ability in a limited career that was cut short after just seven starts.
He won the Group III ATC Ming Dynasty Quality beating subsequent Caulfield Guineas winner Shooting to Win and was beaten a nose by another of the Arrowfield Stud owned Redoute's Choice colts Scissor Kick in the Group III ATC Up and Coming Stakes.
A competitive fifth in the Group I ATC George Main Stakes against older horses at weight-for-age gave promise of his true potential earning him a Timeform rating of 120, before injury curtailed his career.
"Panzer Division is close to the perfect thoroughbred horse on conformation and presence, he's a stunning individual," said his trainer Paul Messara.
"He also had a huge amount of ability and we had high aspirations for him but his career was cut short by injury in the Hobartville Stakes."
As a full brother to Group II winner Kebede from Champion Chilean 2YO Filly Desert Fight (Chi), Panzer Division combines the blood of two champion Arrowfield sires in Redoute's Choice and Hussonet (USA), who is the sire of Desert Fight.
A horse stamped indelibly in the image of his sire Redoute's Choice, Panzer Division produced some gorgeous first foals last spring including this filly from Skyescent, the dam of Group I winner Rubiscent.
"Arrowfield Stud strongly believe in this young stallion and are committed to sending 15 quality mares to him this year," added Dr Brianna Vandyke.
Panzer Division stands at a fee of $9,900 with a special introductory offer to celebrate the standing of this exciting stallion at Pepper Tree Farm.
