Daily Debutants

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 17
A juvenile maiden at Hawkesbury on Tuesday has drawn an interesting field including the most expensive filly ever sired by Exceed and Excel and the full brother to Group I winner Sweet Idea.

Priestess as a yearlingThe Hawkes Racing trained filly Priestess was recorded as a sale at Inglis Easter for $1.2 million from the Middlebrook Valley Lodge draft by Hawkes Racing, but appears to be running for her breeder Tony Falcone.

She is a half-sister to Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas winner Divine Prophet and Group II winner Proisir being from terrific producer Prophet’s Jewel.

Also of interest the John Sargent trained Snitzel colt Home Win, a $240,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Apollo Ng from the Arrowfield draft. He is a full brother to $2.4 million earner Sweet Idea and also this season’s Group I placed Group II winner Showtime.

The yearling full sister to Home Win made $1.8 million at Magic Millions this year and Showtime made $1.1 million as a yearling, so Home Win would appear to be a bargain if he can run!
