Newgate
Farm's promising young sire Sizzling added a new metropolitan winner to his
tally with a Sandown victory on Wednesday for Secret Blaze.
Fourth on debut in the Listed MRC Merson Cooper Stakes to Long Leaf in the spring,
the Tony McEvoy trained Secret Blaze was spelled after one further start and
returned to racing as a gelding this year.
Second at his first run back at Pakenham behind stakes class filly Cristal
Eyes, he took plenty of benefit from that outing to score a tenacious nose win
over 1400 metres.
A $90,000 Inglis Premier purchase from the Millford Thoroughbreds draft for
McEvoy Mitchell Racing, he is a half-brother to Group III placed Invincibella from
the Galileo (IRE) mare Abscond.
The full brother to Secret Blaze will be offered as Lot 2 at the Inglis VOBIS
Gold Yearling Sale by Blue Gum Farm.
Secret Blaze is the fifth winner for Snitzel's Group I winning son Sizzling,
who covered 116 mares last spring.
