Fastnet Rock Sires First Million Dollar Yearling on Tuesday

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 10
Champion sire Fastnet Rock was the first to post a million dollar result at the second session of the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale on Tuesday with a filly from Frustrating fetching $1,150,000 to the bid of James Bester Bloodstock.

$1,150,000 Fastnet Rock filly from FrustratingConsigned for sale by Coolmore, the filly is a full sister to this season's stakes-winning two year-old Long Leaf and her dam is a daughter of blue hen Parfore, the dam of Group I stars Terravista and Tiger Tees as well as Group II winner Ball of Muscle, Singapore Horse of the Year Super Easy and stakes-winner Our Lukas.

"She's exactly the sort of Fastnet Rock filly that runs," said James Bester, likening her to his past star Fastnet Rock fillies such as Ennis Hill and Lake Geneva.

"She's a high quality filly, not overly big, with a good head and great forearm and gaskin. She is exactly like you want to see in a Fastnet two year-old and is very like her brother."

The star filly was purchased on behalf of Kia Ora Stud.

Frustrating was covered again last spring by Fastnet Rock, who has some sensational yearlings to come including the full brother to dual Group I winner Shoals that will be offered on Wednesday as Lot 400.
