Zoustar share headlines capacity April (Late) catalogue

A share in Champion sire Zoustar headlines a ‘full’ Inglis Digital April (Late) Online Sale which also features a dominant last start winner ideal for Australian or Hong Kong racing and many quality drafts from the country’s leading stud farms and racing stables.

A total of 554 lots have been finalised for the capacity catalogue, which is now live and open for bidding at inglisdigital.com.

The standout entry is the Zoustar share, just the second time that equity in the Widden Stud resident sire has been made available for public auction.

Zoustar stands at a fee of $275,000 this spring.

Zoustar, at just 14 years of age, is already the sire of 65 Stakes winners and 117 black type horses including the likes of Sunlight, Ozzmosis, Zougotcha, Schwarz, Joliestar, Growing Empire, Mizzy, Zoutori, Climbing Star, Lean Mean Machine, Zousain, Platinum Jubilee etc.

Over the past two Australasian racing seasons he is the leading sire of Stakes winners (27) and G1 winners (5) and he is on the cusp of his first Australian General Sires Premiership win, with progeny earnings for the 2024/25 season sitting at $20.7m.

Last season Zoustar (pictured) sired the winners of a record-breaking 364 races in Australia.

Since 2022 he has produced 23 $1m+ yearlings in the sale ring while his appeal as a broodmare sire continues to soar, with his daughters like Sunlight ($4.2m), Madam Rouge ($2.4m), Mizzy ($2.2m), C’est Magique ($1.7m), North Star Lass ($1.525m) etc selling extraordinarily well as broodmare prospects.

The Zoustar share is being offered on account of Qatar Bloodstock.

Another significant offering in the April (Late) Sale – which includes 232 broodmares, 189 racehorses (96 race fillies), 66 racehorse shares, 36 yearlings, 29 weanlings and 2 stallions - is the 3YO Natural Laws (Capitalist).

A lightly-raced gelding, Natural Laws was a dominant 4.5 length last start winner for trainer Peter Snowden and is offered with significant racing upside.

He has a Hong Kong Rating of 64 and has been fully vetted in line with Hong Kong Jockey Club protocols.

Among the plethora of other strong offerings in the catalogue are seven lightly raced Godolphin 3YOs, two breeding rights in leading sire Bivouac and an unreserved dispersal from Fieldhouse including mares by the likes of Exceed And Excel, Savabeel, Medaglia d’Oro and Per Incanto offered in foal to the likes of Pierata, Cosmic Force, Zousain and King’s Legacy.
