Woodside Park Stud - 2018 Stallion Fee Announcement

Media Release - Thursday April 5
Victoria's Woodside Park Stud is delighted to announce their 2018 stallion roster, headlined by Champion Victorian Sire Written Tycoon and supported by the impeccably well-bred, highly rated two-year-old, Cable Bay, and Written Tycoon's fastest and highest rated son, Rich Enuff.

Written TycoonWoodside Park Stud General Manager Commercial, James Price is also thrilled to announce that the son of Deep Impact, Tosen Stardom (JPN) will join the 2018 stallion roster at the conclusion of his exceptional racetrack career.

"Woodside's 2018 stallion roster will have world wide appeal to broodmare owners with bloodlines from international superstars and colonial speed, with proven champions and promising, exciting young stallions," Price said.

Written Tycoon
In an exceptional breeding career that continues to climb, Champion Victorian Stallion, Written Tycoon has now produced five individual Group 1 gallopers, adding the tough and talented Blue Diamond winner, Written By to his record.

Written By joins Golden Slipper winner Capitalist, NZ Sires Produce two-year-old Luna Rossa, and tough Doomben 10,000 sprinter Music Magnate, and the Tatts Tiara victor Tycoon Tara.

"It's highly likely that Written By will be awarded Champion Australian 2YO Colt. This will place Written Tycoon in elite company, joining Redoute's Choice as one of only two stallions to have sired two Champion 2YO colts in Australia in the last 20 years," Price said.

Written Tycoon's prepotency to stamp his foals in the image of himself, with the exceptional ability to produce outstanding commercial types, ensure his progeny are highly sort after by the educated and astute buying bench at all major sales.

"Woodside Park Stud is proud to support and grow the Victorian breeding industry, and being passionately Victorian owned, they believe Written Tycoon will continue to play a pivotal role in the success of the Victorian industry for the rest of his breeding career," Price said.

With tremendous fertility and libido, million-dollar yearlings, phenomenal 73% winners to runners and producing five individual Group 1 champions, Written Tycoon can conclusively demand his 2018 fee of $100,000 plus GST.

Cable Bay (IRE)
Cable Bay (IRE), the impeccably bred son of Invincible Spirit and highest-rated two-year-old at stud in the UK and Ireland offers a pedigree that is highly sort after by Australian breeders.

Having served an exceptional book of handpicked mares that have both performed on the track and been proven to produce, Cable Bay has been given a significant head start to succeed.

"To demonstrate the support he received, more than 25% of the mares he covered were stakes winners or stakes performers, including a full-sister to All Too Hard, and a half-sister to Black Caviar," Price said.

"By breeding to him in his second season, mare owners can take advantage of this wonderful kick start, as they will be selling his progeny off the back of his exceptionally well-bred first crop hitting the track in their two-year-old season."

Eagerly anticipating his first foals on the ground, breeders can be confident in the continued support, commitment, and investment of quality mares in the young stallion to maximise future sales and racing success.

Cable Bay is exceptional value standing for $12,000 plus GST in 2018.

Rich Enuff
Being Written Tycoon's fastest, highest rated son at stud, Rich Enuff will cover another solid book filled with fast and precocious speed mares this season.

In the same profile as his sire, Written Tycoon, and his grandsire Iglesia, Rich Enuff possesses all the raw power and speed that is distinctive of top-class stallions.

With three consecutive Group and Listed victories, Rich Enuff was explosive on the track, stopping the clock at 1:08.13 – the fastest a three-year-old colt has run down the Flemington straight six this century.

"Other horses to win the Group 2 Danehill have been Champion Australian stallions, Fastnet Rock and Rory's Jester, and Rich Enuff saluted in record time, defeating Wandjina and Brazen Beau in the process," Price said.

This ability coupled with his stunning physical attributes and excellent fertility, is a surefire formula to produce outstanding offspring.

"His first crop of foals present with size, scope, muscle and very much in the mold of his father, Written Tycoon," Price said.

With continuing solid interest from breeders, Rich Enuff is ready for another busy season ahead. Stunning, fast and precocious, Rich Enuff will stand in 2018 at a highly competitive fee of $11,000 plus GST.

Tosen Stardom (JPN)
The 2018 breeding season will see Tosen Stardom (JPN) head to the stallion barn at Woodside, with his service fee confirmed at the conclusion of his racetrack career.

Jamie Lovett, co-owner of Tosen Stardom and Managing Director of Australian Bloodstock comments on his brilliant galloper's next chapter in his career.

"We are looking forward to Tosen Stardom starting his stud career at Woodside Park Stud later this year. With his multiple Group 1 wins and his outstanding pedigree, we have no doubt he will follow in his father, Deep Impact's footsteps and be a producer of outstanding racehorses, just like he is.
