Timely Easter Pedigree Update as Inglis Graduates Dominate

Group II Tulloch Stakes winner Levendi (Pierro) provided Widden Stud with a timely pedigree update ahead of the Australian Easter Yearling Sale.

Sebring filly from LipariWidden will offer Levendi'sSebring half-sister (ex Lipari) as Lot 207(pictured) at the Easter Sale, which will be held at Riverside Stables from April 9-11.

"She's an outstanding type, a great moving athletic filly,'' Widden's Antony Thompson said of the Easter offering.

"She's a real Oaks filly.

"The mare (Lipari) has had two runners for two winners and this filly coming to Easter has shown every indication she won't be missing out either.''

On-site inspections begin this coming Monday at 9am for seven vendors (Kitchwin Hills, Widden Stud, Arrowfield Stud, Canning Downs Stud, Glenlogan Park, Lucas Bloodstock and Milburn Creek, with all horses on site and parading by Thursday.

A big fortnight of Inglis action begins this Thursday night (April 5) with The Chairman's Sale Racing Prospects, at the Museum of Contemporary Art from 8.30pm.

Three 3YO colts will be offered – Siege Of Quebec (Fastnet Rock), Almighty (Exceed And Excel) and Hypnotist (Snitzel) – all for James Harron Bloodstock.

Following the Australian Easter Yearling Sale (April 9-11) is The Chairman's Sale Breeding Prospects, where almost 200 elite broodmares and weanlings will be offered at Riverside Stables on Thursday April 12.

The fortnight of action concludes with The Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale, which has seen 649 horses catalogued for sale at Riverside Stables over three big days of April 15-17.

Meanwhile Widgee Turf (Group 3 Victoria Handicap) and Shoreham (Group 3 Easter Cup) made a clean sweep of the Stakes races at Caulfield today and 4YOs Spright (Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes) and Cellarman (Group 3 Doncaster Prelude) added more black type to their pages at Rosehill.

The Caulfield double was a huge result for Little Plains Stud, who offered both Widgee Turf (2014 Great Southern Sale) and Shoreham (2011 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale) for public auction through Inglis.

Spright returns to formAt Rosehill Spright (Hinchinbrook x Dashoff) took her career earnings past $500,000 when coming from last on the home turn to win the Star Kingdom Stakes.

It was the third Stakes success for the great pinhook result for Gary Mudgway of Grange Thoroughbreds, who bought her for $12,000 at the Australian Broodmare & Weanling Sale before onselling her for $100,000 at the Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

And Cellarman made it four wins from his past five starts when claiming the Doncaster Prelude.

The son of Mossman won't back up in next weekend's Group 1 Doncaster Mile but continues to be a great success story for her connections at Star Thoroughbreds, who bought her for $90,000 from Yallambee Stud's draft at the 2015 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
