Reliable Man Share and G1 Sire Rios Highlight gavelhouse.com Auction

A stallion share in Reliable Man is a highlight in the current 86-Lot gavelhouse  New Zealand online auction which runs until 7pm on Tuesday 3 April.

Reliable Man has made a promising start to his stud career siring Group One performing juvenile Belle du Nord and more Reliable Manrecently his first classic crop have impressed with the likes of Sully, Main Stage , Kapoor, Narella and Erasmus.

The southern hemisphere share affords the buyer one nomination to the multiple Group One winning son of Dalakhani as well as a share in any dividends each year from the 2018 season onwards. Reliable Man stands at Westbury Stud and commanded a $17,500 service fee last spring.

Confidence is brimming around the attractive grey with Westbury Stud General Manager Russell Warwick commenting "Reliable Man has received an excellent start to his stud career and the enthusiasm and confidence around his stock on both sides of the Tasman has been quite incredible."

"Reliable Man has already produced the Flemington stakes winner Main Stage, VRC Derby runner-up Sully, and dual Group 1 placed filly Belle du Nord from his first crop; and with large books following in years 2,3, and 4 he certainly has a very bright future ahead of him."

Also offered for sale in the catalogue is Waikato Stud's Group One producer Rios. The international demand for his progeny is on the rise with winners across five countries – Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand.

"He's a wonderful horse to do anything with and his strike rate has been extremely admirable, but we feel it's time to let someone else have a chance with him," stud principal Mark Chittick said.

Covering sires include Complacent, El Roca, Mongolian Khan, Puccini, Redwood, Rios, Rip Van Winkle, Rock 'n' Pop, Showcasing, Sweynesse, Telperion and Tivaci.
