Widden Draft of Inglis Easter Crackers

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday March 28
A hugely successful Inglis Classic Yearling Sale earlier this year to mark the opening of Riverside Stables has paved the way for much excitement as we head towards the 2018 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale (April 9, 10 and 11) with Widden Stud set to present a stunning draft showcasing their formidable array of stallion talent.

Widden Stud bred and sold $2.1 million earner Sunlight18 of their 29 yearlings this year are sired by Widden Stud based stallions with 11 by Sebring, three by Stratum, two by Star Witness and two by Zoustar, the leading Australian First Season Sire.

"A good mating and a good farm, that’s where it starts!” said Antony Thompson earlier this year and that sentiment continues to pay dividends.

An unparalleled natural environment in which to raise thoroughbreds, coupled with top class stallions and well thought out matings has delivered success at the highest level for Widden Stud for 150 years.

In recent times, Australian Horse of the Year Dissident is a testament to the success of the Widden Stud breeding program.

The five time Group I winning son of Sebring and his dam Diana’s Secret were both bred by Widden Stud in partnership as is current superstar filly Sunlight.

Breeding the best horses to win the best races is what Widden Stud and their clients aspire to, so they welcome everyone to the Riverside Stables next month to see the very cream of the Widden crop.
