Racing NSW vets inspected all Golden Slipper runners on Friday with West Of Swindon found to still have an issue with the foot which caused his late withdrawal from the Pagp Pago Stakes and he will be re-inspected on Saturday morning.
Racing NSW release:
All declared starters for Saturday's $5m TAB Golden Slipper have today been the subject of an examination performed by Racing NSW Veterinary Officers.
Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Carly Garling has notified Stewards that all runners, except for WEST OF SWINDON, have been assessed as being suitable to race.
Dr Garling advised that WEST OF SWINDON, which was a late withdrawal from the Pago Pago Stakes last Saturday due to an issue with its near fore foot, was found upon examination to be exhibiting some mild lameness in that foot.
A further veterinary examination of WEST OF SWINDON will be conducted tomorrow morning, prior to the scratching deadline, to assess its suitability to race.
