Three
year-old Al Maher colt Money Maher posted his second stakes win of the season
when taking out the Listed WATC JC Roberts Stakes at Ascot in Perth on
Saturday.
Sent out favourite for the 1800 metre contest, he scored a three quarter length
win for the Ben Pearce stable.
A $58,000 purchase by his trainer out of the Bucklee Farm draft at the 2016
Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, Money Maher has the overall record of four wins
and three placings from 14 starts with earnings in excess of $200,000.
Money Maher is the first foal of Treasury Notes, a daughter of Financial
Rescue, who is a half-sister to the Group I AJC Oaks heroine and grand
broodmare Savana City.
He is one of 34 stakes-winners for Aquis based Al Maher, who will turn 17 this
year. A perennial source of winners, the blue-blooded son of Danehill covered 63
mares last spring in the Hunter Valley.
