$4.7million earner I Am Me Confirmed for Inglis Chairman's Sale

Media Release - Tuesday March 18

Record-breaking sprinting mare I Am Me (I Am Invincible) is the latest headline act confirmed for the Inglis Chairman’s Sale.

The Ciaron Maher-trainee is one of Australia’s most accomplished performers of the past few seasons, with prizemoney earnings in excess of $4.7m.

A five-time Stakes winner, I Am Me is also G1 placed on multiple occasions, including when 2nd in both the Manikato Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley behind 10-time G1 winner Imperatriz and the G1 Sir Rupert Clarke over 1400m at Caulfield behind dual G1 winner Magic Time.

I Am Me has won or finished in the top four in 12 of her 17 starts at Stakes level - which includes five of her eight starts at G1 level – with victories coming in races like the $2m Sydney Stakes and G2 Missile Stakes, both against open company.

She is only the second horse alongside dual The Everest winner Redzel to complete the G3 Concorde Stakes/G2 The Shorts double over 1000m & 1100m at Randwick, in doing so defeating the likes of G1 winners Bella Nipotina, Private Eye, Giga Kick, Stefi Magnetica, Mazu, Lady Of Camelot etc.

I Am Me has a peak Timeform rating of 119, higher than the likes of G1 winners Sunshine In Paris, Espiona, Zapateo, Benedetta, Espiona etc.

Such is her speed, she set a new 1200m track record of 1.08.45 when winning the Listed Canterbury Sprint, beating the previous mark by 0.48 seconds.

I Am Me is beautifully bred, by Australia’s Champion Sire I Am Invincible, while her fourth dam is the extraordinary producer Crimson Saint, from whom 66 individual Stakes winners are descendant, including the likes of Royal Academy, Storm Cat, Beauty Eternal, Reckless Abandon, Tribalist, Brando etc.

I Am Me will be offered as a racing and breeding prospect at the Chairman’s Sale, on behalf of her owners Dynamic Syndications.

She was last week confirmed as a runner in the $5m The Quokka, to be run in Perth in April.

I Am Me may also line up in Saturday’s G1 The Galaxy at Rosehill and remains in contention to contest the G1 TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick on Day 1 of The Championships.

Dynamic’s Adam Watt described I Am Me as “the dream mare’’.

“She’s the type of horse that every owner dreams of,’’ Watt said.

“Being a $210,000 Inglis Premier yearling that has gone on to win 11 races, be five-times Group 1 performed and amassed over $4.7m in prizemoney so far in her stellar career, she’s been an absolute dream for everyone involved with her.

“The journey’s not over yet for us, there’s still some top level races she will run in over the coming month or two and as an ownership group we feel winning the $5m The Quokka would be the perfect way to cap off what’s already been an incredible story.

“She’s incredibly sound and really racing at the peak of her powers as a 6YO, which is testament to her quality and toughness and we thank Ciaron and [assistant trainer] Joh [Gerard-Dubord] for how they managed her career.

“She’s a truly gorgeous individual, she’ll no doubt be a blue chip mare in any broodmare band around the world. It’s sad that her journey with us is coming to an end but she leaves us with some incredible memories and saying farewell to her at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale – which is such a special night on the global sales calendar – is going to be a memorable experience.’’

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch was “ecstatic” at the news that the star mare would be part of the Chairman’s Sale catalogue.

“I make no secret of the fact that I adore this mare, both as a race filly and as a prospective broodmare, so I have been speaking to Dean and Adam about her for what feels like years,” Hutch said.

“She has really got it all – electric speed, an outstanding physique and a pedigree that is just about tailor made for her to be an elite broodmare.

“We are very grateful to Adam, Dean and all the partners in I Am Me for the opportunity to facilitate her sale and I am confident we will achieve an outstanding result which will be just reward for their conviction in buying her for $210,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale.

“The Chairman’s Sale has established itself as a world-class market for the sale of quality bloodstock in a short space of time and we are very excited for what is going to be a fantastic edition of the sale this year.’’

I Am Me joins the likes of outstanding mare Estriella, G1 winner Royal Merchant, G1 placed Semana, G3 winner Honey Girl, Sausedge (the dam of this season’s dual G2 placed 2YO Wiltshire Square, in foal to sire-of-the-moment Wootton Bassett), talented performers Mumbai Muse, Dancing Alone, Enbihaar (dam of top-class filly Too Darn Lizzie), Grinzinger Belle, Sirileo Miss, She Dances etc as confirmed entries into the Chairman’s Sale.

Other recent additions include another G1 Galaxy contender in the shape of last Saturday’s G3 winner Eagle Nest, high class Group-winning mare Lekvarte, Stakes-winning 2YO Castanya and the dam of this season’s high-class 2YO Field Of Play, amongst many others.

Chairman’s entries must close soon so to enter, contact a member of the Inglis bloodstock team or CLICK HERE.

The Chairman’s Sale will be held at Riverside on the evening of Thursday May 8.
