Three year-old filly Cordina was not sighted at two, but won her only two previous trials in Sydney in January and February before being sent south to make her debut.

Ridden by Blake Shinn and sent out favourite, Cordina showed her class when drawing clear for aa comfortable two and a half length win in the 1112m maiden.

“She was very foolproof as you would expect from the team and won as she liked, so she has a nice future,” Shinn said.

“She enjoyed that, it was like a track gallop for her and she is destined for better things.”
