WA
based Universal Ruler sired his second stakes-winner of the week when Abdicator
took out the Listed Rangeview Stud Classic at Bunbury on Wednesday.
The Darren Mcauliffe-trained gelding scored am easy length and a half win
over All Too Hard filly Fine Scent in the 1400 metre sprint.
Not offered at auction, Abdicator has won four of eight starts and is the fourth
stakes-winner for Universal Ruler, a Group III winning son of Scenic (IRE) that
stands at Scenic Lodge.
He is the first winner for Royal Escape, a minor winning Royal Academy (USA)
grand-daughter of Group II winner Constant Flight.
The success of Abdicator follows on from a brilliant debut win last Saturday at
Ascot for Universal Ruler's two year-old daughter Lady Cosmology in the Listed
WATC Supremacy Stakes.
The Simon Miller trained filly scored a dominant two length win and looks a
star on the rise.
Universal Ruler covered just 23 mares last spring at a fee of $3,850.
