Monaco Consul for Sale

Media Release - Monday March 19

KINGSTAR FARM has thrown its support behind Inglis Digital's Online Auction platform, entering dual G1-winning sire MONACO CONSUL in the unreserved  section of the upcoming March Sale.

Monaco ConsulThe son of High Chaparral originally retired to Patinack Farm in 2011 following a successful racing career, which included wins in the G1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) and G1 Victoria Derby (2500m).

Monaco Consul also placed in the Australian Derby, Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Caulfield Cup.

Having stood the 2017 breeding season at Kingstar Farm, Monaco Consul has shown he can throw a Classic type like himself.

Kingstar Farm Manager Adam Cook says: "We are extremely reluctant to offer Monaco Consul for sale, as we believe he is a stallion batting way above his average.

"I think we can all see that he has produced two outstanding horses in his first two crops; with Honesta finishing second by a nose in the Flight Stakes as a 3YO and then running second to Jameka in the VRC Oaks.

"The following year, he sired Tiamo Grace to win the Wakeful Stakes, so we have great belief that he will continue producing mile-plus horses."

"Anyone looking for a stallion that will produce your Oaks filly or Derby colt, Monaco Consul is an outstanding prospect."

Monaco Consul is out of the Star Way mare Argante, herself a full sister to Con Air and a half sister to Military Plume.

His progeny have sold up to $220,000 as yearlings.
