Oaklands Stud’s first season stallion Prince Fawaz is on the board with a two year-old winner that promises to keep getting better as the races get longer.
Idyllic Affair was having her second start after a debut second at Eagle Farm on January 18, and after being allowed to settle midfield in the small field came with a sustained run to score strongly.

Idyllic Affair as a yearling
Ridden by Michael Rodd, the Lee Freedman trained filly defeated Boomshanka (Spirit Of Boom) by a neck with Making News (North Pacific) third.
She was offered by the Alma Vale/Kitchwin Hills Partnership draft at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale Book 2 but passed in shy of a $40,000 reserve.
Prince Fawaz retired to Oaklands having won the Group I J.J. Atkins at two before finishing second in the Group I Rosehill Guineas over 2000m at three and to date has had only three runners.
Idyl
lic Affair is the first foal of unraced Sebring mare Sunday Drive.
The second dam, Idyllic Mood is by High Chaparral while the third dam is Zabeel Group III winner Matras, from a family which includes Victoria Derby winner Prized Icon.
So given the sire’s middle distance profile, and the family, Idyllic Mood looks a filly with plenty of upside as she matures.
