Last
seen finishing fourth in the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas, exciting I Am
Invincible filly She's So High returned from a spell to score a resounding
victory in the Listed VRC Incognitus Stakes at Flemington on Saturday.
A well backed favourite, the Mick Price trained filly travelled smoothly in
third place before powering away to win the 1100 metre sprint by more than
three lengths.
"She's a nice filly so we had a go at the Thousand Guineas with her in the
spring, but she didn't really get the 1600 metres and doesn't really get 1400,"
said Mick Price.
"So this time we're just keeping her fresh and keeping to the sprints. She's a
much stronger filly now and will go to Sydney for some nice races."
A $120,000 Magic Millions purchase from the Amarina Farm draft for Blueblood
Thoroughbreds, She's So High was bred by Kambula Stud and was originally sold
by them at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale for $65,000.
She is a half-sister to Group III placed Bangs and is the second winner from
minor winning Exceed and Excel mare High Achiever.
High Achiever was anything but that as a racehorse, scoring one win from five
starts, although her pedigree suggests there is more to come as she is a
grand-daughter of Announce, who is also the grand-dam of high flying siblings
Shooting to Win and Deep Field.
She's So High is the 28th stakes-winner for I Am Invincible and has the overall
record of two wins from six starts with prizemoney in excess of $140,000.
