The Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale concluded with Book II today, wrapping up a rewarding week of trade.

Zoustar colt from Belle of the CityBook II ended with an average of $39,540 through a clearance rate of 74%, grossing $5,417,000.

Today's top Lot was aZoustar x Belle Of The City colt (Lot 659), which Hawkes Racing bought from the Maluka Thoroughbreds draft for $150,000.

"The first day we saw him we liked him,'' Wayne Hawkes said.

"We thought he was good value.''

The next sale on the Inglis calendar is the Autumn Thoroughbred Sale at Oaklands Junction on Sunday March 18, a mixed sale for which 152 horses have been catalogued.

Attention then switches to a big fortnight of action in Sydney in April.

The highlight will be the annual Australian Easter Yearling Sale, which runs from April 9-11.

The Easter Yearling Sale will again be flanked by The Chairman's Sale.

The Chairman's Sale Racing Prospects, a unique sale for horses who will compete during The Championships at Randwick on the following two Saturdays, will be held on Thursday April 5 at the Museum of Contemporary Art on Sydney Harbour from 7pm.

The Chairman's Sale Breeding Prospects will be held at Riverside Stables on Thursday April 12, where a strong catalogue of almost 200 elite broodmares and weanlings will be offered.

The big two weeks of action will be wrapped up with the Australian Broodmare & Weanling Sale, also at Riverside Stables, from April 15-17.

The catalogues for both The Chairman's Sale Breeding Prospects and the Australian Broodmare and Weanling Sale will be available at inglis.com.au on Monday.
