Debbie Kepitis and her family have spent months pondering on what to call the most expensive yearling ever sold in Australia and the Pierro filly from Winx will start 2025 with a name.
Quinceañera has been accepted by the Australian Studbook for the first born foal of the four time Cox Plate winner, whose second foal, a colt by Snitzel, was recently voted the Breednet Favourite Foal of 2024.
The two-year-old filly's name is derived from a Latin American tradition that also spawned a famous animated television series.
Mrs Kepitis issued a Tweet announcing Quinceanera's name is a "Latin American celebration of a girl's 15th birthday, marking her passages from girlhood to womanhood, this young lady is stepping out of the shadow of her mum, Winx.''
